WinASP User's Guide

I. Get Started

1. Lauch WinASP application.
2. Click on Option.
3. Click Browse and browse to your ASP start page, say login.asp. Click Open to close that dialog box.
4. Optionally enter the Virtual Direcotry Name, say Report.
5. Optionally change the Script Time out in seconds, say 120.
6. Click OK to close Option Dialog Box.
7. Click Go from the Main Browser Window.

II. WinASP limitations (What is working and wat is not)

WinASP is supposed to simulate ASP processor provided by IIS 4.0-6.0. The followings are working:

• Intrinsit objects, incluing Request, Response, Session, Application, and Server objects.
• Include files. <!--#include file=...... -->. Recursive includes allowed.
• Script Blocks in <Script></Script> or in <% %>.
• Frames. Recussive Frames allowed.
• Server.Execute. Recusive Server Execute allowed.

The following are NOT supported:

• Cookies.
• Global.asa file. This shortcoming can be got around by include the code in Application_OnStart and Seesion_OnStart into the Start page.
• Pass objects in Session objects.
