Supported Formats • .wma - Windows Media Audio (playback and stream) • .wmp - Windows Media Player (playback and stream) • .wmv - Windows Media Video (playback and stream) • .asf - Advanced Streaming Format (playback and stream) • .mp3 - MPEG Layer 3 (playback, but not streaming)
Unsupported Formats These file formats are not supported, no matter what they contain:
• Any RealAudio format • Anything that is uncompressed • Any multicast-only format • Any QuickTime format • .mp3 playlists (.m3u, .pl, etc.) • .avi • .avr • MPEG-1 • MIDI • 3DMF • .aiff • .au • DIVX
Codecs Supported Encoding • mp3 - The Fraunhofer IIS-A MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3 codec • wma - The Microsoft Windows Media Audio codec (the version 2, 7, and 8 codecs). Additionally, Windows Media Player 9 for Pocket PC 2003 supports the version 9 codec. • MPEG-4 - The Microsoft MPEG-4 codec (versions 2 and 3) and the ISO MPEG-4 video codec. • wmv - The Microsoft Windows Media Video codec (versions 7 and 8). Additionally, Windows Media Player 9 for Pocket PC 2003 supports the version 9 codec.
Unsupported Encoding • JPEG motion • QuickTime • Sorenson video • Apple video • Any other encoding that is not listed under "Supported Encoding"
